Why did the Jaguars make the playoffs this year. The answer is in
the following stats:
- David Garrard threw for 18 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions for a phenominal 6:1 ratio.
- Running the ball and stopping the run. The Jags had 127 first downs rushing
compared to 92 by the opposition. The Jags rushed for 2,391 yards while giving up 1,605 yards, controlling not only
the clock but the tempo of most games.
- The Jaguars were a net +12 on interceptions (eight to twenty)turning around field position often.
